I did many push ups for a while, then years later got back pain between both shoulder blades (symmetrical). Went to physio they told me my front is too strong for my back. I did back exercises for 6-12 months and back pain disappeared magically. So make sure you get the balance.

Im not a fitness expert, but what they say about muscular balance is truly important I believe.
